How per-device routing works.

Step 01

Read the source

Every scroll event carries the ID of the device it came from. Radar Mouse reads that originating device on each event, not just the broad gesture type.

Step 02

Resolve the device

That ID maps to a stable identity, enough to tell a Magic Mouse from a trackpad, which macOS otherwise reports as byte-identical.

Step 03

Apply your direction

The wheel movement is flipped, or left alone, according to that one device’s setting, momentum and all. Everything else passes straight through.
